GQ/Mav Diff Ratios

I've had a look through a bunch of threads and so far haven't come across a conclusive answer.
I've got a 95 TD42 and I have the opportunity to get a diff centre off a 89 TD42 Maverick with an air locker in it. Can I simply swap the diff centres over? From what I've read, all TD42s came with 4.11s.
Would it be better to just swap over the locker components?
Does removing the diff centre require removal of the half shafts?

have a look on your compliance plate and if it says hg41 you have 4.1's
if you dont you have 2 options put the locker into your centre or buy a 4.1 front diff as well.
if you have 3.9's it might be worth while changeing to 4.1's but otherwise id keep what ever gears you have

4.2 diesel :-4.1
2.8 diesel :-4.65
4,2 Petrol manual :-4.1
3.0 Petrol :-4.3
4.2 petrol auto:-3.9
4.8 Auto :-3.5

I had Maverick 4.2L manual at it had HG39 diffs, its kinda a mix
TD42 all come in 4.11:1 according to the book
All RD28T are 4.65:1

thats a good guide choppa but it doesnt seem to always ring true for some unknown reason.

from memory it was the mav's that had the odd options

yeah mine was a maverick with a manual 4.2L with 3.9s

I've confirmed that both vehicles are 4.11 - both compliance plates say HG41.
How hard is it removing the centres? Do the half shafts need to come out?

if its a rear diff jus undo the 6 bolts per side on the axle tube to bearing carrier, if its a front diff you will have to remove the rotors n hubs, then stub axel n cv's, then left hand tie rod on lowwer drag link n rear radius arm bolt on drivers side, thats the easy part the hard parts holding the weight of the diff centre with the air locker in it.
I'd thake the oppertunity to grease all wheel bearings n re pack the cv,s while your there mite as well do the king pins too
