Commodore V6 fuel consumption

For anyone with a commo V6 in their 4x4's, Just wondering what sort of fuel consumption you guys are getting and what it's in, what sort of weight the truck is, tire size diff ratio etc

I ask because I have a 2002 ecotec and auto from VX with only 75K on it in the Hummer replica, the truck weighs 2040kg the diff is 4.6 the tires are 35's and at 110 it's turning at 2100 rpm in 4th, so it's pretty much accelarates like a standard commo (tried it against our VT wagon). but it uses about 18 to 20lt per 100km, a bit thirsty i thought, but i only have our commo to compare it to.

Sounds about right if the weight of the Hummere rep is around the 2500kg mark and not forgetting the aerodynamics of a spinnaker on backwards.

It weighs just over 2000kg's a Commodore wagon with 4 adults would weigh the same, I know the Hummer is shaped like a brick but around town I thought this was a bit thirsty, I dont realy know.

88 pathfinder vn series 2 - 31" tyres, 4.88 ratios, heavy right foot = 20L/100 consistantly
BUT gee it went like stink

sounds about right , tyres will kill the fuel consumption, I run at vt in the 4runner was a vp and get pretty much the same. Weight is just under 2 tonne and with LPG its around 25l/100k. With 31 on I get 400k's out of 80ltr LPG and with 35's it's down to around 300.

I have a turbo Tb42 and i get 4.0kms to a liter of LPG so like 25/ per 100ks.. Good fun though

hows 11l/100km hwy , 13l/100km town for fuel economy ,very similar acceleration to a std commodore wont drag off a modded one but will dust most stockers
wheel spin easy be carefull in the wet ,sand on fraser island towing a camper no sweat towing car trailer loaded still slight struggle on hills but not that bad
all up it goes that well i cant get the missus out of it as she claimed it for hersif you need any more info pm me as i dont get on here much or call mick 0415156693

i put a v6 + auto into a mates 80something model xtra cab hilux, and uses heaps of fuel too, way more than the 3y that came out.

I have been told that my speed sensor is connected and working, if it is not working would it make it use more fuel??? or would it go into limp mode??, I should get connected to a tech 2 computer to see if any error codes show up!

The day before I sold mine I did an economy run to see what fuel consumption was like as the fuel gauge did not work. I did a bit over 300 kms on a mix of road types. Went over the Burringbar range and down to the engineer near Lismore (mostly hills for anyone that knows the area). Then did a 'speed run' back along the highway to Currumbin for S/C. This included sitting on 120 - 130km/h for quite some time. Then it was back over the boarder via the Currumbin/Tomewin Range with lots of steep hilly and cornering drive.
It worked out to be close enought to 13.5 Ltrs per hundred. This was in a Bundera (1670kg+accessories) with VP V6, Manual, 4.88 diffs and 33x13.5 tyres.
Sorry about such a long post, but wanted to give you and idea on what I got with mine as I never worried about it before the sale of it came about. It used heaps more in the bush, but in a straight line it went about as fast as an EF falcon and did the best 2nd gear 'chirps'

Have a VN v6 in a dual cab hilux with auto. 4.88 diff ratios and 35" tyres and got 420kms out of my 50 litre fuel tank.
Highway and around town.
Was very happy as i like to give a bit of stick
