GU stg box into GQ

I've heard a few done it for better turning circle, stronger box, lowers drag link after a lift etc etc.
Who's done it and how is it now?
I've heard some people have had problems of the steering "binding up" using the GU box.
Would it be because of the geometry in the extra travel of the steering box? GU's have a different (larger?) swivel hubs to a GQ too dont they?
I'm looking at putting a GU box in mine.
cheers, sudso

Mine has a gu steering box and I find it ok. However it does seem to be very hard to steer the wheels while on bitumin when not moving. Never a problem in the bush though

Ive got the Gu box on mine and all good, especially the increase in lock.
just used the Gu drag link . and it bolted in.
one minor thing is that at idle on butumen, not moving, sometimes it is a bit hard to steer . I have heard that the Gu's have a different diameter pulley on the power steering pump which may spin the pump a bit quicker and supply more oil at low revs. not big enough a problem to worry about. but it is there.

Have a GY box in a GQ and works fine. Used adjustable drag link GU TRE one end and GQ TRE the other. Better turning circle after adjusting bump stops. CV's dont like lockers at full lock though
.
Could turn enough for 285x75/16s on Ti alloys to touch trailing arm. (more was there if I wanted)

Thanks heaps fella's. Thats what i wanted to know.
I read threads on another forum where their steering almost locked up solid off road and had to reverse to free it up.
Another question, when turning right at full lock is the knuckle on the left hand swivel hub almost straight with the drag link?
I thought this might cause "locking up" off road with the right resistance against the tyres.
The pitman arm on a GU box is longer than a GQ one is it???

I'll look into that too fozdick, I'll ask the Nissan mechanic at the dealers.
Might have to get a GU pump as well. GU wrecks are hard to find out here though
