G'day I'm after some suspension help for a mates 60 series
He's looking to fit 37"tyres, or 35's if these can't be done
The car will be an off road toy, the only onroad she'll be doing will be driving to off road play areas.
What suspension can you reccomend, he want's to keep costs down as much as possible. At the moment he's been looking at a 2" OME lift and probably a 3" body lift. He was quoted about a grand more for a 3"lift, this sounds a bit excessive to me. Would the 37's fit with this sort of lift. I was more thinking 4" lift and 2" body. Who makes decent springs to suit a 3 or 4" lift
thanks
Stu

my hj61 has 6 inches of lift fits 35's piece of pi** only just rub very slightly on full flex ive rolled a 37 upto it itd fit but wouldnt flex much i suggest if you wanna run 37's do a spring over conversion not too hard to do bit of work required thatd be the cheapest option in my opinion

I've got OME 2" spring lift (doesn't matter as your bump stops should be your limit anyway) and ZERO body lift and run 35's (on 2.5" backspace 8" rims). Just required a bit of angle grinder work on front and rear guards.

With 37's it'd hit the leaves pretty heavily on full lock so you'd lose a bit of turning circle. Rears will hit the body mount in the rear wheel arch on flex. Fronts will hit the front of the front wheel arch on flex.

rims were procomp 16" reverse dish with a bit of modification to make the clear calipers on the front. If you want 15's just get some cheap sunnies and get a wheel place to move them across - normally charge around $50/wheel to change an offset. In VIC there is AJAX and Eastern Wheel Works (used both and both good!). Or run 15x10's (this is my next route).
