2" lift will let you run 31's if you adjust steering stops to stop front end rubbing

I wish :(

I run 4.5" up front and 5" in the rear and 32" tyres with a little trimming front and rear, with the swaybar on no problems, with the swaybar off it gets tight in there. With some more trimming 33's would fit without too much hassle but 35's need more lift, lots of trimming and lots of bumpstopping. Even 2" of lift is tight with 31's if you disconnect the swaybar, you'll rub somewhere.

Cheers
Steve

And will work for beer.

I do believe it would be physically possible - but we are talking extensive cutting and modification.
Front with no snorkel could be cut back enough.....Add some bbq plate & tube for flares.....
Rear - relocate the spring mounts back about 3" (to clear the rear doors), then CUT the bum and fit a new inner wheel wheel (since the orginal would be mostly goone. Add more bbq plate & tube.....

Pretty as a picture huh

If you're real keen, you could get rid of the rear doors, chop up your rear wheel arch as needed, extend fron doors, weld in new side, and presto you have a 2-door cherokee :D

Its no different to choping a hot rod, except more unusual. While your at it, just wack a E49 Hemi head on the engine, with a blower, and while your at it, chrome all the fittings. Allot of work, but allot of fun, I'll leave it there...

the e49 head is going to be interesting since it is an AMC block NOT a chrysler straight 6 block :finger:

if you want hipo alloy heads for the jeep straight 6 check out hesco

Sorry, I was under the imporession that the engine was in effect a modernised 245 chrysler with fuel injection etc. I thought the chrysler engines completley replaced the AMC gear in the late eighties when they bought jeep. Anyway good to know.

I wasn't serious anyway, I hope you picked up on that. (original e49 head would be worth as much as the cherokee).

Nah don't think so, that pic would be a E38 ;)
I'm still curious as to how to distinguish a E49 head from any other hemi head :?:
