Interior lamps

Hey
wondering what do people use for interior lamps? more interested in after maket ones. LED or otherwise
I am prob doing a couple of LED map lights up so far. but need somehting for the back area for getting tools.

seen some good jobs with fluch mount fluros, they light up very well

I put a 18w in instead off the 2w its made a huge diffrence

ive got a fluro in the ute and ill be putting one in the wagon. It was about $19.00 from super cheap and has never missed a beat.

jaycar here in vic sell a flexible 21 led strip light for $30.00 got one for the camper trailer and works a treat, plenty of light, it also comes with a couple of meters of cable and switch.
also bunnings sell 12v led deck lights.

I also used a double tube fluoro from Repco... very bright, more light than you could need for the back.
I fixed it to the rollover bar, and hard wired it, with a switch.

I have one of these in my Lux and it is brilliant!
Narva part # 87340
Fitted straight up where the standard one went with a couple of holes drilled though the plastic base using the standard one as a template.
Also hooks up to the wiring same as a standard one so you can have on/off/door using the switch on it.

In my Sierra I used a brake light. The red light doesn't effect your night vision yet is light enough to read maps etc.

I have one of those in my 60 and one in my GQ. They are fantastic. Under 20 bucks to from memory

ill get you some pics of my mates zook. he has 4 leds in a rounded piece of perspex (one in each corner of the beast. he made me some up and they look sweet. mine are yet to be installed.
i also picked up a rechargeable 12v LED light. it is great! runs off 12v or 240v (adapters included) or wirelessly. it also has magnetised brackets for it to clip into.
next time i am round ill show ya.

anyone where you can get led replacement bulbs for the oblong interior light fitted to most vechiles ?
dosn't need to be bright, a red one sounds good to.

mate heres an idea
jaycar has kits for festoon lights (interior), you still youse the same light fitting dont have to drill anything
you just use the metal end caps off your old lights and solderin the leds and a resitor and presto
awesome led light,,ive got some in the paj

I put LED's in my STD Nissan GQ light and the results wern't that great as there isn't much of a reflector behind it.

Yep thats what I did.
Got the 31mm festoon LED lamps from Jaycar for the Paj.
They fit in the existing lights I had to bend the holders slightly for them to fit but no probs.
The Paj has 3 (2 front & 1 rear) and the interior is bright as now (white light).
The LED globes were about $15Ea from memory.

tjm 4wd megastores stock some narva stuff... apart from that im not sure, check the website, it might have dealers/stockists listed on there

LED"s have come along way, damn 2 LEDS on a 31mm feston, mine have 12! Ebay is the only place to look!

How do you know what size your standard light is ?.. i..e 31mm etc
