festo air fitting help

ok I have festo air fittings on the new rig for the air actuated solanoids, the problem is one of the hoses split and I presumes they were something like the ARB set up with the olive etc in them, ie undo them, take the old hose off, trim and refit, however the fiting wouldnot come out, so played about and it seems they are some kind of one use fitting.

I need one single 1\8 fitting, and it would seem I would be well served to get a couple of spares, a couple of singlesand one t

can anyone tell me how they work and where I may be able to find some arounf Castle Hill in sydney

Cheers

they are reuseable push the white bit on the top pic towards the black bit then push the hose into the fitting and pull straight back (you need to hold the white bit in while doing this) it should come straight out if it dosent hold the collar in and just give the hose a wiggle

X2 - Yeh they are just push in fittings. To get tube out, Push tube in - hold the fitting in then pull the tube out while still holding in the fitting.

as for where to get them, most hose suppliers that have anything to do with compressed air stock them, most of the usuall sizes you would find in metal fittings

the one on the top pic actually looks like it has a locking bead around the shaft, so you cant push it in, if this is the case you might have to remove it (unless of course that is just a dust protector or similar)

OK, maybe things have changed, but 6 years ago SMC's national head office was in Castle Hill.

They'll have fittings to do what you need.
