not that bad at all i'd say.

in a year going from 106000km to 124000km all i've had to get done is an engine mount, prior to that nothing that the previous owner told me about

have a look at Jeep forum as basically same question was asked last week.

But I love my 2001 Grand V8, and never had a problem with it. Buy something with a service history and keep serviced with genuine fluids.
And on the highway I average 11-12lts/100kms using PULP.

Totall agree with PK we have the same model 2001. Runs perfect, 2002 will probably have qadra trac, make sure it works every now and then you get one that just doesn't.

Pro's for the Jeep, sexy as, v8 is fast you'll be surprised there very car like and modifications really aren't required to go off road also not forgeting that the interior finishes of the Jeep flogs anything else out there.

PULP always use a good fuel, we average the same kms as PK'S but soft sand driving you may want to allow for 30 litres per hour consumption so extended beach trips take a jerry can or two.
