diagnosing something with headlights

As of about a week ago, my headlights do this weird thing where they sort of flicker on and off, but generally don't turn completely off. And I can hear the relay under the dash clicking like mad every time it happens. Would the relay be the cause of the problem or a symptom??

I vote symptom.

I'd bet on intermittent contact in the relay coil circuit. Most likely to be headlight switch, could also be another relay - do your lights turn off when you turn your ignition off?

Any idea if it happens with highbeam?

Lights will stay on all the time, just flicker. High beam is the same, flickering. It tends to do it less when stationary. When it first happened, the car was stationary, just warming up, but since then its pretty much only done it whilst driving.

Yeah i'm leaning towards that as well, cause when it happens I try and jiggle the wires near the relay, and it sorta stops for a bit (or maybe I imagine it does  ) . Will have to take it to a sparky, just gotta find the time

Crook wiring/terminal/connector block. Good excuse to re-wire the lights.
