coil sprung trailer

Hi,
Im thinking about building up my camper trailer. I am going to put coils under it with a solid axel and use shocks, the camper is under 500kg. I have a few questions but.
1 will i need upper control arms as well as 2 lowers and a panard rod?
It would be nice to just use lowers but not sure it that will work.
2 should the springs be mounted on top of axel or behind axel?
If any one has done this I would love to see some pics.
I will be running 35s on it when finished so it should be real good by the time its done. It has 10in boat trailer wheels on it at moment.
Cheers
Michael

check out that dude's on 4wd monthly's forum. From memory he had independent coil sprung suspension. Its under "my ultimate camper trailer" or something. Top build.
I cant see why you would need more than a 3-link. Two lower links and a panhard. fore and aft axle movement is taken care of by the lowers and side to side is handled by the p/hard.

using only the lower with a bush at both ends do you think it will twist/spin
or will the coils being mounted just behind the axel stop this?

just a thought
be easy for parts etc i guess

Pick up an early model range rover for next to nothing and use the rear chassis half as the chassis of your trailer. Ditch the diff center along with the calipers/rotors .The axle housing will be light yet still way strong enough for a trailer.

try this setup out, much easier than 3 link with panhard ro anything, and you have more centre clearnace for the centre of wheel ruts,

I'd go for either Ozy1's picture or a single link setup.
Single link is a large triangle, wheels at the back two points, single pivot at the front. One panhard or other lateral location needed and that's it.

And hook up an alternator to the diff head, use it to power your fridge.

Oh well, considering this is "Outerlimits4x4"
What about Portal axles?

pfft, after you've turned those portals up the right way you could then run a driveshaft to the trailer and have a powered trailer. Make sure you get difflocks for it as well as longfields

and also a air con pump for onboard air
, just use it to fill a air or old gas tank.
