Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Just wondering what you blokes do with your factory sway bar disconnects after you've done a suspension lift of 3" or more.
The pivot bolt on mine snapped and the fulcrum was shagged too because the extra wheel travel with my lift put too much strain on it I suppose.
I think I flexed it a little too much with it still "connected".
Now I'm driving around disconnected.

Do ya's just put aftermarket links in or what?

I removed my swaybar, if you get a reasonable setup won't roll much.

Cut and sleeve them for the extra length required.

I was going to lengthen my factory disco, but it would've been a big job, so removed front and rear swaybars. Bit more body roll as expected, but a lot more travel too.

Yer mine was lengthened by screwing another rod to the bottom of the disconnect link (with the stopper in the same place) so the sway wasn't too much on an angle but it still only had the same amount of free travel in disconnect mode (1.5" each way). The passenger side link was lengthened about 3" too.

Do aftermarket disconnects bolt straight up to the disconnect side bracket? Cos the bracketry is different to the standard passenger side.

From memory, I couldn't fit aftermarket disconnects due to the factory mounting.
If you find that you can, I might put some on mine to see what difference there is.

No one throw your factory disconnect set ups away cos I have an idea.
