as im aware the standard wheelbase for a gq is 117".. when you guys running comp rigs customise your suspension setups like changing the front to a 5 link and a-frame rear or extending the lower arms for a big lift or whatever it is... wont that increase the wheelbase evan more to something over 120 inches? i have heard guys say that bout 110" is ideal for offroad use.. so do you just put up with having a big rig or can you decrease a lwb's wheelbase?

to many variables to make a good decision. Depends alot on what you plan on doing with it. On a swb ext to 100" seems nice. Shortening a LWB isnt that easy. But alot of hispeed. A long wheel base will be heaps more stable.

around 112" is good 100"is still to short for hill climbs, I like the lwb lenth but am building a swb for something different at the moment, 5 link front is not worth the hassel just a good set of drop arms, less hassel n more clearence n stability, love my a frame

thats just my misunderstanding... i thought an a frame would push your rear diff backwards... obviously not... nastytroll have you got any pics of the setup? what size lift do you run with it? thanx for the replies

GQ swb should be 93", Run 7" lift have done for 6 years my A frame is similar to a wizard performance A frame, (pure coincidence as they where made at the same time)
My A frame runs 25mm 4140 Ground High tensile pivot shaft with tapered roller bearings rated at 52 tonne each, has oil seals kept in with circlips each side of bearings to keep dirt out n grase in has a grease nipple so no need to strip shaft
Sorry dont have any pictures
