Fuel Priming

Was ran out of fuel, then primed without cracking the nipple on the fuel filter housing. Was filled with fuel then bled with the nipple cracked. Runs 100% fine, however leaks a large amount of fuel from the primer area of the pump and a smaller amount over the drivers rear axle.

Is it possible, bleeding the system without having the fuel filter housing nipple cracked, that it's pushed fuel past some seals and wrecked them? If so, which?

Thanks, Joel.

dunno(doubt) if priming it without the nipple cracked would have done any dammage. but if your pimer pump has never been replaced, its farely common for the seals to wear out in them.

you can get a new primper pump for about $14 from memory, screws straight in where your old one was.

Righto I will replace the primer. Could the fuel over the rear axle be caused by fuel dribbling back over the fuel lines?
