after burning out the clutch in my MQ on the weekend, im looking at the options i have for replacement. to leave it on the other side of the the state and get a new clutch shipped in and installed is going to leave me very little change outa $1000, and thats not even a heavy duty clutch. my other options are getting it trailered back home and getting someone down here to put one in for me.

so what im wanting to know is if anyone knows of a good place to get a good quality heavy duty clutch?

im in hobart so most interstaters will only be able to give referance to larger chain stores like repco etc, but any help would be apreciated.

cheers

she's sitting in the yard of the local mech at zeehan for at least the next 2 weeks.

so far about the cheapest heavy duty kit iv come across is $500+ so yours is sounding rather good...

im thinking i should buy a winch so i dont have to do snatch recoveries uphill anymore :D

Edit: just rang up the bloke at the garage in zeehan, he rekons he can do the whole lot for me for $600, and iv told him if theres a heavy duty avail for under $350 to put that in instead. the great thing about zeehan being so remote is the hourly rate is bugger all, so i figure thats a hell of alot cheaper than any other option atm. ta for the help tho

imo, u get what you pay for at the end of the day, and doing a clutch in any patrol requires either alot of green, or alot of beer and a few good mates.

i did mine when i bought my truck and i put a safari tough kit in, the kit itself is very well constructed and the fiberous plates friction area absolutly craps all over std. for the extra money you pay to get the safari kit, its well worth it when you have to go through actually replacing it. ive had the kit in for about 1500k's (car was unregd most of the time) and the feel is absolutly amasing.

just thought id add my 2c :D

yeah i looked at the safari, but the lack of cash and the need to get it on the road again soon kinda pushed me 2wards the cheaper option. if i get cpl of yrs outa it ill be happy, then ill put in a realy gd one when i need to.
