replacing l28

gday lads, im after some help............

a few weeks ago, after finnaly getting a chance to charge my batteries, i started up the mighty shorty, only to find it was heating up REALY QUICK.... checked radiator which was emptyish( very odd as i had filled it a couple days before), filled radiator with about 5 litres of water...(bad news bells ringing) started it up again, fine for a while then the temp starts climbing again.... have a glance under the car and there is water absolutly p!ssing out of a join in the exhaust.....?????????

i checked the engine oil and surprise surprise, looked like thick frothy hot chocolate( water in engine oil) im thinking cracked head???.

after talking to a few people and some research on here, i have come to the conclusion it will be far easier and cheaper to repalce the whole engine, as aposed to mucking around ripping it apart (hoping it is fixable) fixing it and putting it back together.

question is...do you guys agree its the right idea to cut losses and dump in a new engine, i mean, if i can find a good working l28 for under a few hundred bucks id be laughing especialy since i am on a reallly tight budget and have no experiance with l28 heads and what not.....

also, how hard is it to acctualy replace these engines?? is it a 1 weekend kind of job?

and finnaly...............does anyone have a spare L28 hanging around that is in pretty good running order?!!!!!!!
