I also ordered my profields today, doing the same thing as you. How much are you paying for the JMac shafts? I need to order a set, as well as 30 spline drive flanges and the new brass bushings for the spindles.

Thats still cheaper than Rover gear.
Just so I get this straight from all the other threads...
Michael [and Sam]? have:
-Toy diffs [with 30 spl side gears?] and the toy pumpkin redrilled to fit the rover housing bolt pattern.
-Jac Mac custom axles 30 spl [both ends?]. But the front short side hilux original will fit.
-Toy birfs - now profields
-Rover spindles [this is the steering swivel right?] These need to be bored out to fit the extra width of a toy birf and the need a custom [or off the shelf?] brass bush.
-Jac Mac 30 spl drive flanges
-Rover driveshafts redrilled to fit the toy pinion [or you could use a DC front hilux shaft if you needed one and redrill the rover output?]
Anything I have left out?

youre a little off on a few things.
Rover housings redrilled for the Toy diff pattern (not the other way 'round)
30 spline side gears
Jack Mac shafts, 30 spline at the diff and i think 27? at the birf (stock toyota spline on both ends)
profields or longfields
no modifications necessary to the swivel ball or knuckle, but the spindle (or stub axle it is sometimes referred to as) needs to be bored out a little (dont have the exact spec) and a new brass bush fitted into the end of it to carry the stub shaft end of the birf.
30 spline drive flanges

Pretty much correct Adam,
I think you increase the bore on the spindle by 20 thou.
Toy centre in rover axle housing.
Jacmac axles although I believe one Toy axle will fit.
Toy birfs.
jacmac drive flanges.
easy lol
Michael.

Of course you dont have to convert to the Toy third member. Jac Mac should be able to make rover 24 spline shafts to toy CVs im sure. But by going to the toy third you get a much stronger CW&P.
Still not totally sure if a Toyota Landcruiser short side axle (from any landcruiser up to but not including the 80 series) will do the job on the short side. If Michael get both custom shafts and measures them then we can see if they will do the job. Otherwise Im almost just going to order the pair and make the comparison after that. If I do this then basically it means that I can get really cheap short side axles (the side that CVs always seem to blow up on and take out the axle).
This is really good stuff.
Im putting these axles into a full tube buggy and its going to be an absolutley awesome machine (and fully street legal and registered I hope). I start building this weekend (im going to start a new post on this)

Don't know how much tube buggy building got done on the weekend.
I saw some beer drinking and some roll cage building for the hangers on (like me !) but not much tube buggy action
