Hilux Transfercase question

Hi All,
Being a Nissan person and having nothing to do with Toyotas at all I have a question.

I am looking for a Toyota 5 speed and transfer to bolt into 4x4 with the front diff on the LH side. Given that the toyota 5 speed boxes can be bolted up to just about any engine with changable bellhousings available from Dellow and Castlemaine rod shop. I saw a Hilux transfer that had the front driveshaft output on the LH passenger side. I have looked at a few hilux transfers and the front output has always been on the driver side.

What model/year Hilux would this 5 speed box and transfer combo with front out on LH side be out of ?

I assume it would be strong enough behind a Holden V6 or V8 ?

Thanks , Shane

98 onwards is when the diff was put on the passenger side.

Also are these boxes strong enough behind a 308 or V6 ???

The model that went from 98-05. 1998 was the changeover year from one model to the next, so the earlier ones still had the diff on the RHS, but the later ones had it LHS.

The 90 Series Prados should also have the same gearbox/transfer i believe.

Actually scratch the Prado bit. Don't know what the hell i was thinking, considering it's an AWD set up  Especially since i own one, and had a previous model Hilux, i should have known that.
