2004+ 3.2 DID Auto GLS+ models - The third row seats. Is there much room left once the seat is up?
I have 3 anklebiters with the young ones in the second row with car seats and the older one (9yrs) who wants to sit in the third row. Everyone says that yeah its great because you can fold the seat away and you have heaps of room but what about if its up? Could you fit an esky and a pram etc. in there as well. I am tossing up between the Prado and Paj, leaning towards Paj but worried about room in the third row. With the Prado you can take one seat out and have a bit of room left but I am told the Paj seat is smack bang in the middle.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

P.S Also is there any aircon in the third row.

Hi Magicfev

I have just (6 mths ago) moved from Gen II 2.8 to a 2004 3.2 DiD.
Yes there is lots more room with the 3rd row seat packed away into teh floor, than the Gen II, however it does limit you in that you can't set up just one seat, so room available reduced.

There is room behind the seat raised for bags, maybe a small esky (or Chully Bun as us Kiwis say :-) ) and maybe a folding push chair, but you would struggle to get a Pram in behind.

There is no air conditioning in the 3rd Row (or at least not in the NZ GLS model)

You champion....Thankyou for the feedback. As I thought. They are great vehicles but sadly I will have to go the less powerful Prado (96kw) just because I will need the space. Wish I could afford the new edition Prado 2006/07 which the CRD.

Don't forget there is quite a bit of space under the seat where it used to be stored once it was lifted. Can easily fit pushchair or even 2 or maybe 3-4 small how you call them eskys. Not pram though. Man you've got some different terminology.
