Hi all,
I would like to know if i could put one on part time HZJ105 solid axle,with maybe just a transfer modification.
this would serve in order to drive a hydraulic winch.

yes. there are factory and aftermarket PTO boxes available. If you are only going to run a winch then it is cheaper and more efficient just to run a shaft to the winch at the front from the PTO box. However a hydraulic winch running off the PTO would be cool.

PowAuto makes (or made) a PTO box to suit your transfer.


For a toyota PTO you will have to go to Toyota. The best way to get one would be second hand from an importer, one from an 80 series will fit.

PowAuto might have PTO box you can bolt a hydraulic pump to but you will probably need to do some custom fabrication to mount a pump and build a shaft.

I'm sorry but I think this question is lost in translation!

to do what you want to do, you need a PTO Box to bolt to your transfer case; this is available from Toyota (difficult to find outside Japan), and from PowAuto (see URL). There may be others; these are the two that I know of.

it seems I may be mistaken about the availability of PTO for the 105 series, I had assumed the transfer is the same as for a part time 7x or 80 series, but apparently it is different, you will have to stick yopur head under and see if there is a PTO cover on the left side of the transfer case. If there is not, then the only PTO option you have available is a rear mounted PTO driving directly off the transfer case input shaft, which do exist but may be difficult to find.

100 1hz diesels run R151 boxes and r transfers, as are the hzj78/9.....have a look in the ARB cattledog, im pretty sure they offer a PTO.

Hi Giacomo.m, its good to have some international folks on this forum. I was in Italy for work last november, around Este/Monselice, it really is a beautiful place.

As for your HZJ105,
If you have the HF1A transfer case look for a cover plate on the LHS of the transfer. It should have 10 bolts (the BF1A transfer case has 6) and looks like this:

NB - the gearbox in this pic is a H150F

This is what a HF1A PTO unit looks like, although PTO's from other manufacturers may differ slightly:

it is Toyota genuine parts ? part number ?
and the assembly back is obliged for having the driveshaft ahead ?

Yes it should be possible to mount a hydraulic pump direct to the pto, but it would require some custom machining or brackets, and that would depend on the type of pto you get and the type of pump too.
Sorry but I dont know if this pto is a genuine Toyota one and I dont have toyota part numbers. I only had the photos on my computer.
I do have a POWAUTO pto unit at home though and can take photos if it would help you.

The standard position is for the driveshaft to face forward from the pto, however, on most pto's there is an identical plate on the other side of the unit and it should be too hard to have the driveshaft facing the rear. This is definantly the case with my POWAUTO pto.
