Lifting an Isuzu MU

A question from my better half.. and YES I SEARCHED FIRST...

How hard would it be, and basically how much.

He's trying to convince a guy at his work to lift his MU instead of lowering it.

Only problem we can see so far is it's an independent front end...

Thanks in advance,

Jess & Mark.

..depends how much u wanna lift it?.
MUs are torsion bar front end – so just winding up the original torsion bars would get 40mm.
The rear end is leaf sprung....so some drop shackles would do the trick.
That would be a very cheap option!

there are also 3ich kits that Calmini make which use redesigned upper control arms at the front that stretch the IFS as far as it will go. This kit is pretty expensive from what i can remember... yr looking at around the 2k mark.

...and yeah – thats about as far as u can go with the IFS:)

Basically MUs are Holden Rodeo fronts and jackroo/Rodeo rears, well thats what TJM told me when they lifted mine for me 2.5", costs varry from $1000 for carrols or lovel springs to 1500ish with TJM gear.
these prices should include 4 new shocks, 2 new leafs, bushes and U bolts.
(Add extra 300-400 for new heavier torsion bars)

Also try www.clubisuzu.com (in forum and parts sections) for all your MU questions

Cheers

How high you want to go with it Jess, if its only and inch or so just wind up the front end, and fit some longer shackles. $50 at the most for a inch or so lift.

Layto....

Nah, Probably wont be.

Mark just wanted the info for a guy he works with.

Something about the guy wanting to lower, and Mark trying to convince him to lift it instead.

Gee, I wonder where he gets that from. lol :D
