So whats the go?
They have to be engineered for the mounts?
They must be ADR approved?
We are allowed to run harnesses as replacement seatbelts??
Most of the EBAY type cheaper ones are going to have no hope of being legal?

Only Klippan harnesses are able to be used as replacements for seatbelts. Other brand harnesses are NOT allowed to be used on the street.

i have monza 4point harness's in my mq, they are dot and adr approved if fitted properly. havent had any dramas, the lap belt is mounted to the original belt holes and the shoulder straps are mounted to the floor where the rear seat locks were. the paper work that came with them give u the correct angles for the belts, also says these belts are approved, in vehicles that didnt have belts original and as replacement for others. not sure on the new cars with air bags and pretensioners

Are you sure they are ADR approved? Most are DOT approved, but like tyres, that is meaningless here.

it all comes down to how its fitted. follow the instructions and they are adr approved.
Quote from instruction sheet
Monza RS306 and 406 have been tested to ECE spec SE4 0434002(4point) and SE4 0433063(3point) and austrailian standards ADR4/03.
This harness is suitable for use as an aftermarket product in those states and territories which permit-1 the replacement of seat belts in inservice vehicles and/or-2 the fitting of seat belts to those vehicles which were never fitted with seat belts by the original equipment manufacturer(eg pre adr vehicles)

Inservice vehicles? And does the state permit it?
I'd be very wary.

The monza belts are ADR approved. Any ADR belt can be used but to use a 4 point you'll be changing mounting points, this'll have to be engineer aproved. Mounting them to child restraint anchors is generally not accepted.

the belts in my mq were checked by the engineer when i upgraded engine, he found no prob with them being anchored to the rear seat mount holes using graded bolts. the rear seat has the seat belts mounted to the seat the floor and mount is reinforced

cool, I thought Klippan was the only company with certified belts, good to see others getting their act together.
