have just tired to fix the timing in my brothers runnabout POS 2wd hilux ....the timing was out and he decided to pull the whole dizzy from the block..... now i know if it doesnt go back into the correct postion it will not fire andnot start.... well guess what hes farked it and now im serously stuck.... any help please he needs to get back on the road to head back to cairns asap

place engine at top dead centre. mark dizzy where no 1 cylinder will fire (approx). drop dizzy in. rotate to align the mark that you made.

this is a rough start. now if engine doesn't start and back fires through the carby/ intake manifold. the timing was out by 180 degrees.

if starts and no timong light available rotate by hand until engine sounds to running ok. go to far and engine will stall and or ping whilst driving under load. hope this helps
