Can anyone tell me what the fuel economy is like on a 80 series Landcruiser diesel, 5 speed manual
Just curious what its like under 14 litres/100 km? More? Less?

And to expand on that a poorly tuned and heavy right foot driver such as myself can get 400-500kms to the 95 main tank (2nd tank is 50litres btw) but this barely ever happens. I have to take it really easy to get 500kms.
But dont get to worried about my figures as mine isn't tuned properly and i have been putting it off until i get my decent zorst and extractors.
You should get 1100 to both tanks (145litres).

I got 1300kms to both tanks. So presuming your correct bout the sub being 50litres thats 140l = 1300kms.
so 10.7l/100kms
thats a 1997 hzj80 with 330,000 on the clock, stock standard.
Another question for ya all, considering I get good fuel economy and it doesn't blow ANY smoke what so ever would that indicate the motor's still in good nick? Doesn't make any knocking sound when cold yet either

thats nice mileage badlux and a nice year for an 80.
i would call you a slow driver but you do live in perth so good miles could be expected
ive got 360+ on mine and doesnt smoke much, only when she drowns in mud and is flat to the boards
I would say excellent condition (is your radiator lined in oil from an engine rebuild?), or you have had your valve clearances done perfectly not too long ago.
Should invest ~1k on extractors and exhaust package.

in my previous 80, stock as a rock DX, 1HZ I could get as good as 9l/100km on the highway at 100km/h, but it was mostly around 11l/100km mixed.
my current 1996 multivalve turbo is around 12l/100km under most conditions with 5" lift, 35's, winch, bar work and rear tyre carrier, but a heavy foot will send it to 14 and beyond pretty easily.
