Triton vs Challenger: spare tyre hoist...

Hi, me again. My '98 challenger spare tyre hoist has a tooth or two broken on the pinion (not the worm), and I've got zero challengers being wrecked in Brisvegas atm.

However, I have tracked a MK Triton hoist down. Anyone confirm whether this will fit before i go pick it up? The Challenger bolt pattern is 35mm x 70mm, with the worm shaft coming out the top...

On typing that, it has just occurred to me that i didn't confirm where the hoist/release screw was for the triton hoist: on my car it is thru the floor of the boot... and that doesn't sound like what you'd do for a ute.

Help?

Yeah, i was right, the triton is no worm/wheel setup, and i don't think very much at all is...

I just took the hoist apart, and built up two new teeth with weld. (something a shop declined to do for me, because they weren't set up for the machining... My 4" and a cutting disc did all right tho...)

So, there you go. You can weld to the wheel of the challenger spare tyre hoist, 'cos it's a very rattly fit, and a new replacement is 225 off the shelf.
