Toyota CT26 Turbo

G'day all
Got an 80 series toyota turbo (1HDT) set up fitted to a 1HZ donk in my 75 series ute, it's currently running 10psi boost.
I am just about to fit an intercooler and was wondering what to increase the boost to.
I was thinking around the 14psi mark, don't want too high as the turbo may be inefficient at too high pressures.
It's a standard toyota CT26 turbo.
Anyone out there increased turbo press in ther 80 series?

14psi would be around the absolute maximum for the 1hz with an intercooler due to the restrictive nature of the pre-combustion chambers in the head...

This is recently been done with great discussion lower down in this thread: http://carl.outerlimits4x4.com/viewtopic.php?t=106484 all your questions shall be answered....

As standard they run 11psi on a 1hdt. !4 should be ok, just watch egts.

Why are the precomps restrictive, all they are doing is letting the start of the igntiton process, no different o a td42. They knock out great power, can you please clarify your comment.

12 is a good number...i know its not what your looking for, but the ct26 doesnt like running more than 12, as it makes more heat than flow running std internals...
Best option for you is to replumb the sensing hose to the manifold, so u r getting 11 after the cooler, which might end up being 13 at the turbo.
There is one more thing you can do...i have installed a front wheel from a supra 7mgte...it is 4mm larger diameter than std ct26 in hdft, bolts straight on, using supra front cover. Supplies more air all the way through.

Only basing my judgement on what i have read from this forum from several people who appear to know what they are on about.

I understand that you can do anything to anything aslong as you have time and money.... it all depends on what this particular person wants out of there motor, bucket loads of power, or power, fuel efficiency and longevity.

Having read and marvelled at your posts i understand that you do this kind of thing for a living, so im not trying to take anything away from what you have to say, just giving the bloke something to start with, and hopefully steering him in the right direction towards the thread i linked to.
