MQ LWB mid mounted secondary LPG tank

The LWB has a dirty big reinforcement pipe/crossmember joining the chassis rails just behind the transfer case.
If i leave this pipe intact I can fit maybe a 700-800mm long lpg tank and still have 100-200mm clearance to the diff.
If i remove this reinforcement I can probably fit a 1000mm+ tank in there.
So I was thinking of making up a new reinforcing crossmember which would go under the lpg tank similar to the bashplate/guard for hte transfer case/gearbox but stronger of course.
Does anyone have any ideas/comments?
The other thing is how much clearance from the diff to the lpg tank would be safe? I'd assume when the suspension is compressed the diff actually moves backwards, not forwards, so for me 100-150mm would be appropriate.
