37 x13.5r15 on 8 inch rim

Post by Madmac »

will a 13.5 wide tyre fit on an 8 inch rim? they will be beadlocked with internal airs, or should i look at buying a narrowerer tyre to fit the rims?
the tyres im looking at are pro comp X terrains, if anyones run these tyres id like to hear your opinions on them too

I have the 325/85/16 which is basically the 37x13.5x16 and I've run them on 16x8's on my GU coil cab and now on 16x10's on my TJ.

They seemed to hold a bead quite fine when I aired down on the 16x8's but definitely crowned significantly at street pressures. On the 16x10's they seem to provide a truer shape at all pressures.

I'm not sure if all their 37's are still made out of the softer compound but mine are and they are too soft to be running on a daily driver rig unless you've got money to burn.

I've been reasonably happy with the way that they perform on rock and general trails but I've got no experience with them in the mud.
I'm not very good looking, so I guess I better be useful . . .

I would probably look at a wider rim if its being used on the road a lot, but if its for comp and play only then I think you would get away with 8" allright
If the above post did not offend you in any way please PM me so I can try harder!!

thats kind of what i wanted to hear, ive bought a set of custom heavy duty steel rims from mick with internal beadlocks and really dont want to have to buy more rims. i have 2 other sets of tyres i can use for road duties. and the cost of the pro comps, i really dont want to run them on road

o probs, I would tend to think that at road presures, the tyres would be pulled in and wear in the middle a bit to much, off road with low pressures etc I would be more woried about chipping etc
