Outer Limits 4x4 Board

anyone know of a deacent lift kit for a coily zoook, all i can find is 2 inch lift coils. i'm keen on building up my zook. how much lift would i need to fit 33 inch tyres. im gunna get get a bolt in 3 inch lift kit from snake racing, and if i got 2 inch coils would that be enough room for the 33's. im a newby so any info on coily zooks would be great.

wasnt some 1 workin on a 6 inchlift for coilys?

not shaw but that would be exelent. id be keen on that than i wouldnt have to do a 3 inch body lift

and yes i did i search and liam off this board (Bigballs) is workin on a 6 inch lift

i read that 3 inch body lift info, and i also was talking to a bloke a snake racing and he said thay are working on a zook 3 inch body lift 100% bolt on. so that sounded pritty good to me. this 6 suspension lift would be better than doin body lift, any idea how much it will cost.

There's a coily in Brisbane running 33"s everyday and I've seen him running 36"s. Had to do a bit of work to get it though. He has 3" body lift and 6" suspension lift. Running a Rangie A-frame rear. Has GU rear shocksset at the angle with CRV rear coils, and VitRR front coils over Koni customs with raised seat.

to fit bigger than 32" on a coily it starts getting hard, the firewall is in the way and you have to lift high or sacrifice flex. even my 31" rub the firewall with 2" springs and 1.5" body. the spring lift does nothing if you are getting full flex as the tyre still stuffs into the guard just as much. if you run standard bumpstops you have to do a bodylift to stop the tyres chewing the guards out, or the guards chewing the tyres. I have hammered all the body seams flat inside the guards.

there are no aftermarket shocks available off the shelf for the front end, you have to go custom, i have made my own rancho coilovers using rs5117 and lancer springseats. I am using rancho rs9119 in the rear which are slightly too long but have extended the rear bumpstops by about 20mm to suit (mmmmmm plywood )

I might be getting some 32x9.5 (235/85 R16) soon if i get good $$ for my 31".

but i'm going onto no income soon so i had better watch my spending habits.....

Vitaras came with 16" rims and I used to have some of the old 16 x 5" from an LJ rims that I had the centres cut out and welded into lada Niva 16 x 6.5" outers

Suki sam i got a 2" lift originally for my old spook from ultimate suspensions kit came with front shocks aswell as a little spacer that slide ova the shock bout 15mm or so in case you were runnin a aftermarket front bar to get it level..........i later got a new one machined up bout 25mm ...................... ( ilater found out tho that the springs were kings ther black paint rubbed off to reveal anice canary yella ........live and learn

my bro had a 4 inche lift on his hard top coily but his was custom made it was all good until he found his freind measured it wrong and it all went pair shaped but your best bet i would say if you cant find the kit you want is to look at geting a custom set of shockies and springs made

when you say "search newby" the dead is resurrected

I have not found anyone in NZ that can supply aftermarket shocks for a coilly front end without doing a custom setup

even suzuki NZ look at you twice when you try to get coilly parts

"SJ80?" they say - "oh that's an SJ413 version 8"

Those shocks that RB is talking about are about 1 million bucks each I think they are imported from japan.

well they measured it wrong sum how and the shocks were compressing to soon and ended up snaping off at the bottem
the springs the company stuffed up and put to many coils in it and then cus my bro's freind didnt tell him he needed to rotate the diff it started to tear off sum of the mounts

was he running 6 coils or 8?? most guys i know run 4

sorry i dont know the proper terms for it but it was as if they wound it around to many times like instead of it say having like 32 little loops in it it had like 40 if you get me probally not

Whet the appetite. The first is on 36's. Mine's only running 30's (the blue one), the other two are on 31" Simex. It's now running 33" Jungle Treckers
