Installing TBI onto 1.3 carb'd NT

Hi guys well i purchased the TBI setup off cutzook and i was just wandering what else i may be requiring for the install.. and if i have missed anything. i have done many a search and so far all i think i need is the following:
* Fuel pump (VL..?)
* Increase fuel return line to 6mm
* new gaskets for intake manifold etc.
* fuel reg or is TBI inbuilt reg fine?
anyone else found anything that may be required for this? also what happens to the standard cam driven fuel pump? may need a plate to cover up the mount point?
i am going to install the aircon setup i sourced a few weeks back also, so i am in need of a dual V crankshaft pulley if anyone has one? or can i just run a longer belt so i can run alternator and A/C. if anyone has the parts i need let me know or any advice is appreciated.. ill take tons of photos during install for others.
oh and installing the EF Ghia Alternator round the same time.

Whats the TBI off , mine is a swift TBI , did you get a wiring diagram and if you retain the standard dizzy , it needs a mod too. Also did you get all the external sensors , Cheers Paul.

hi mate i believe it is coming with the sensors etc. TBI off a vitara i am thinking? cutzook wasnt aware what it was off to be exact.
i have a wiring diagram off Karmic's site suzukiinfo.com so will be using that..
probably look at having a fusebox for EFI and one for standard zook stuff.
didnt know about the dizzy mod.. i thought that was more for the swift GTI heads as they need a 180 degree adaptor? i may be wrong.

Standard electronic distributor in mine had what looked like two pickups , I had to remove one to make mine work , It neede to measure 160 ohms through distributor wiring , once I removed it , it fired up straight away , yours could be different , Cheers Paul.

make sure you swap your carby fuel lines to Injected lines as well.

hi v840 (nice avatar!)
i was under the impression standard fuel lines should be ok as TBI only requires 24 - 30psi. i was going to upgrade the fuel return line as the vl pump will be pumping too much fuel and the reg should divert it straight back to the tank.

Its not the pressure that requires larger lines, its the volume flow rate.

Did you get a manifold with your TBI , I had to make one out off a chunk of alloy , I used hole saws on an angle to cut main holes and drill and tapped it , using allen key cap screws in original manifold to hold adaptor plate , then 4 studs to hold TBI on , also be careful not to change VSV hosing as this controls idle speed and RPM , if hosing is not the correct size the engine goes into limp mode after 2500 rpm , I have shitloads of photo's , but none making the adaptor , engine is coming out soon so I will take a couple , Cheers Paul.

hi Mart,
the tbi is on its way over to me now so.
cutzook put this in his ad:
injection unit, brand new genuine computer and manifold
making the manifold would have sucked! the VSV hose is a good tip! something i guess you learn by trial and error hey
pics would be great for reference purposes to.. thanks

Throttle Body Spacer.
This kit is the only one of its kind in the universe. A bolt-on throttle body spacer really adds some pep to your high RPM driving or playing. This kit is for for injected Samurais only. Can it be so easy to bump your power? It is. Only takes a few minutes to install. Anyone can do it.
Kit comes with hardware, spacer, and gasket. connection. 89.00 US
wander if its a worthwhile addition..

Currently running VL pump with original return line , also running original feed line to pump , pump is under drivers feet , have a VL fuel filter in original position , had it 60 degrees quite a few times and the motor runs fine , also have fuel pressure guage , while motor running runs 34 PSI , and excess fuel returns to tank , when motor comes out I am going to upgrade fuel lines , but as it is runs fine for now , Cheers Paul.

its interesting to see the huge difference in fuel pressure to run our respective motors MART from your sig line i take it you have forced induction

hey rocbox can you tell me what fuel lines you are running? soudns to me that people have and are running TBI on standard 1.3L lines. i looked through the service manual for the vitara and the supplemental manual but it doesnt say anything (that i can see) on fuel line size.
and i just searched again to make sure i havent missed a post or something but its a mixed bag at best.

Throttle body spacers are popular with Jeep owners, seem to get a bit more poke out of their engine. it allows better and more even flow from the throttle body to the intake port. The smoother (less turbulance) the flow through the manifold, the better performance.
