Anyone have experience with the 73 series fiberglass windscreen surrounds on ebay ? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... &rd=1&rd=1

THe surround on my car is fubar and I want to fix the rust up in my car over the next few months and the major contributer is the fucked surround. Or am i better off trying to find a second hand one?

cheers

Can be a real barstard to get the windscreen in as the lip that the window rubber pulls into is double if not triple the thickness of a steel one. Most times the will go in ok with a bit of gentle persuasion but sometimes the glass has to be trimmed down to fit in.

Would not touch them, i had one a few years ago that i bought cheap, i went to fit it up and it was a little bit twisted and the holes don't line up, other mates have had them on utes as well as middys and in time they crack to pieces, a second hand steel one if you can find it is a far better option but it will cost you atleast $600 notes or more. Geniune ones are highway robbery aswell, you may have better luck tracking down a jap import truck and get parts of that instead.

But don't make the mistake of getting the sh*t fiberglass ones.

Which state are you in? Sierrajim gave me details of a mate of his who was wrecking a couple of middys when I needed parts, he's in Melbourne though. Otherwise, would a 75 series fit?

I have fitted one from 'FRP' in queensland. Cost was close to 500 and some of the holes did'nt line up, but otherwise was fine.
