I dont know about this particular item, but it sound like a dodgy mod where you solder a resister inline with the water temp sensor so ECU thinks the motor is cooler than it is. Suposed to be "good" for turbo cars as you can run higher boost because the motor is running richer (I think)

So do australian widetracks, but it would be a stretch to call it a "computer" - there is an emissions control black box behind the glovebox.

US market Samurai went TBI in te last couple of years of production.

On the ebay site though, I didn't see any reference to sierra or samurai, but I may have just missed it.

it's a pain when people fit these things & then bring their car in for a problem without telling you what they have done to it, after you ask them.

on efi cars after a code & senser check you remove this piece of :bad-words: reset the computer & charge them for the time consumed to rectify the wonderful ebay special.(normally coolant temp out of range or faulty.)

proper tuning of modern factory ecu's requires more than a resistor cut inline. that just causes fault codes & limp mode to be activated.

moral of the story is if you play with something & your car gives problems remove it or at least tell the mechanic who you take it to what you have done so that you save their time & more importantly your money ;) .

thanks rant over
