Hi i was wondering if the 1.3 carby swift motor and g/box will fit in a 1ltr sierra? I know i'd have to get a 1.3 bonnet (dont want body lift) and jackshaft, but i can get a 4-door swift for $400 with a 1.3 and 5-speed. The only thing that i'm not sure about is the fact that they are an east-west motor and front wheel drive.
So my question is if the g/box is different will a sierra 5-speed bolt to the swift motor? do they have the same bellhousing? also i'd have to get a 1.3 sierra sump too wouldn't i?
Thanks
Mitch

Motor is the same as a 1.3 sierra,
but sorry the gearbox is not useable, as it is totally different.

Sierra gearbox will bolt up to the swift motor, this is what I have.
Sump and oil pick up and dipstick needs to be from sierra.

what about a 1.6 swift? a bloke just PM'd me saying he'll have one for sale in a couple of weeks. Are they just a G16A with different pulleys?

All 1.6 swifts AFAIK were single-point injected, 16-valve engines, pretty similar to the 16-valve vitara motor (which are multi-point injected). So they would not be a straight bolt in as the ecu and injection setup would need wiring up.
So to answer your question 83zook, no they are not just a G16A with different pulleys, they are more like a G16B with a slightly different fuel injection setup.
