TD42 Diesel Injector service

It's about time to send the injectors to the diesel lab. I'm experiencing a miss uphill @ 2600 - 2800 rpm. Blows white smoke twice and looses power, then power comes back and some black smoke is blown. Hopefully it's just a matter of changing nozzles and calibrating the injectors. Otherwise Il'll have to send the pump, which is more expensive.
Anyways, can I remove the injectors myself and send them to the lab (they won't remove the injectors themselves) or do I have to get a mechanic to remove and reoinstall them back? Can someone brief me on the process (what steps do I have to remember, pay close attention, etc... ?) What about bleeding air out after installing them?
Thanks in advance ...

In the fuel pump under the fuel supply banjo bolt (fitting that rubber hose supplying fuel to pump) there is some times a small plastic or brass gause/ strainer that fills with rubbish check this first.
You can remove the injectors your self its fairly easy you will need a 22mm deep socket the rest of the tools are common hand tools, keep an eye ont the fuel return manifold, its a ring under the second injector nut with a steel tube that connects all the injectors then runs under the inlet manifold n joins the pump with a small flexable fuel line. When undoin the nut on the injector be careful that the ring doesnt turn n crack the soldered joint to the tube. Apart from that its steight forward, before you start degrease the motor n blow down with compressed air to remove all dust n grit to stop any contamination. To bleed they will generally start with some cranking of the motor, once the motor starts crack the injector line nut 1 at a time till a nice stream of deisel flows out this should onle take a few seconds each.

Well, the injectors are out. Thanks Nastytroll, removal was pretty straight forward. Just a few nmuts that wouldn't loose easily. Lots of dirt in the injectors threads (the ones going in the cylinder head) Maybe I can vacuum the area prior to installing the injectors back. I cleaned the area, but the dirt was there in the threads. What do you do?
Hopefully I can start the rig when the injectors come back ...

Thought about that but I'm worried about creating some harmful deposits inside the prechambers or cylinder top. Or do you think the combustion will bunr them up?

contact cleaner will evaporate away n dirt should blow out you could take out glow plugs n try blow the dirt through the injector hole out the glow plug hole

Well, seems like problem was not the injectors. I'm blowing less smoke but still experience the miss. Will check the strainer. Hopefully the problem is either there or in the fuel lines, otherwise will have to have the pump serviced (big $$$)... keep you posted.
