Navara steering upgrade for suspension lift?

I have a D21 Navara and want to give it a 3" or 4" lift but I understand that you may need to modify the steering. There seem to be steering upgrades available in the US but I assume they would only suit left hand drive vehicles. Does anyone know if there are steering mods available for right hand drive D21 Navara's? Do you need to upgrade the steering to accommodate a 3" - 4" lift?

You could also try googling Calmini in Australia. I think they are located in Perth and they have been working on a D21 just after christmas trying to build up the steering.

The Calmini steering is what you need. I have the 3rd Nissan equipped with it, no probs so far. 2 of them are running high speed competitions without anything falling apart yet. Drop in, grease it from time to time and forget about it.

Thanks guys. I contacted Calmini in the US but they said their steering kits would only suit LHD. I'll follow up local suppliers. Glad to hear the kit stands up to high speed competition...

bout the closest thing your going to get to a steering solution for a d21 in australia is modifying the center link yourslef (horizontal rotation in the centre link is the CORE problem btw) & thats not going to be legal.
i had/have a d21 for numerouse years now, descent lift & tyres - if you actually 4wd it & its got lift get use to replace steering compents.
in the end its cheaper to sas it.

Totally agree with the centre link rotation being the problem. IMO Mr Nissan should be shot for such a poor design. I've looked into solving this problem in the past and gave up. The US Calmini mods seem brilliant but will only fit LHDs due to the pittman arm and Idler being opposite. There is another US company I think called L&P Performance who do a similar kit to calmini but is compatible with RHDs. I emailed them and got prices sent (from memory around $600 AUS landed), but then spoke to Calmini in Perth, who reckoned he was in the process of building a solution. I will look for L&P Performance's email when I get home, but it ain't cheap and didn't look as good as the Calmini option.

Gold...$600 may be better than driving around with worn steering components all the time, so I would definitely be interested L&P Performance steering kits. Does anyone know how to get in touch with Calmini in Perth - I can't seem to track them down on the net or phone book.

from what ive read on npora, L&P have stopped trading. - the impression i got was he is very unreliable.

i did a solution that worked really well, but i no longer use the vehicle on the road, as its rather not legal at all.

Seriously dude, if you really like the car & want to keep it, it has descent lift & tyres & gets 4wd'n - dont spend a cent on the steering - save up and sas it, it willbe MUCH cheaper in the long run and way better results. - take some advice from someone whos been there and WASTED way too much money on ifs

OK, Calmini in WA is 4WDUSA. Their Phone No is 08 93703340 or Email: eddieat4wdusa@bigpond.com.

I've looked thru all my info on the Navara and can't find the stuff L&P Performance sent me when I contacted them. I have their website saved as a favorite, but when I go to it, it seems totally wrong. Your best bet is to google "D21 steering upgrade" or something and click on some of the Nissan forum links that come up. Somewhere in there will be contact info.
Cheers.
