i have done some looking around but i stil have a question about tyres. i am really keen on a set of 285 75 r16 cooper st's. the tyre tech guy nearly fell over and said no way will they fit. i have a 04 GLS triton dual cab. turb diesel. i havent done anything lift wise except for winding up the torsion bars. any help will be appreciated. ijust want to know wat i need to do to fit these tyres on!

What's your current tyre size? I'm guessing 265/70-16? If so, that's roughly 31"x10.5", the size you want is roughly 33"x11.2".

With torsion bar crank, I think you'll go VERY close, with Patrol offset rims.

I wouldn't recommend 'Cruiser offset - but some do it on the Paj, and are happy with it.

Legally speaking, he's 100% correct. Would require engineering, if allowed at all - where are you?

Maybe i'm wrong on this [I'm willing to be corrected!] but I think most folks issues with rubbing on larger tyres is to a great extent to do with the width? What if you tried skinnier tyres like a 33x10.50 or 33x9.50? As for legalities/engineering... I'm in the uk and couldn't comment.
