I have got me a soft top zook which pumps exhaust into the car when you slow down.
It seems fine when you are accelerating or cruising, and the mixtures are ok...
I am about to make a new exhaust for it, I was wondering if anyone has relocated their tailpipe somewhere else other than standard, and has this worked for you?

Exhaust smell on deceleration
exhaust smell
If your exhaust has a hole or the tip is close to tailgate or if your tailgate rubber is broken/missing you will get fumes. If you are only getting fumes on DEcelleration, I would think VALVE STEM SEALS may be shot. Relocating the exhaust may help, but where would you move it to?
This will tend to be a problem if you have a poorly sealing tailgate/rear window and drive with the drivers/passengers windows open.
The low pressure area created near the door mirrors pulls air forward from the back of the car with the windows open.
If driving fully open in mud/rain it is amazing how much road spray gets sucked onto the screen from the back of the car.
Steve.

i have a straight rear facing 2 inch pipe on my soft top and i get gassed every time i go out. it ends right on line with the bumper and the fumes just get sucked back into the car at low speeds. i need to go and get it cut and bent to the side like the standard one to ease the situation.

i had this same issue in my tintop. turned out that my rear door seal is badly worn and isnt sealing very well on the bottom corners. also my exhaust was like danks is a pipe popping out inline with the bumper. i got the zorst place to cut it back a bit and put a dump type section in and its a lot better now.
next step is to check clark rubber for new seals.
