Hi. I am building a 351C to put in my 1990 Mav auto, and i want to use the nissan 4sp box. I need to sort out what flex plate im using to get the motor balenced, but no-one i have spoken to can tell me whether the maverick tourqe converter will actually fit within the bellhousing bolt pattern for the clevo. Can anyone tell me if there is much of a zize difference between mav and ford TQ's so i dont have to wait 2 weeks till the modded bellhousing is made before i can balance the motor?

You will be getting a convertor made anyhow, so it doesn't matter.
FWIW the ford convertor is usually around 11".

Why? if the mav TQ fits in the housing, wouldnt it be easier to redrill and balence the ford flexplate?

The stall speed will be way out, probably too high, due to the higher torque output of the new motor. You should at least get the converter made to suit.
Should not be too exxy, probably $600 - $1000 depending on quality.
I just paid $1250 for my new convertor for my Mustang, with all the good gear.

well, the adapted bell housing should be here by wendsday. The mav converter is a lot smaller then the ford, so i have redrilled the flexplate, and will shim it to suit. if the mav converter doesnt handle the aimed for 600nm of torque, ill look at getting one made to suit. As for stall speeds, the motor isnt built as a rever, and start hauling from 1200 rpm, so i dont think i need a higher stall. but its an area i dont know much about, so i could well be wrong.

how are you going to locate the convertor spigot in the ford crank??
the ford engine will make a lot more torque, so it will make the nissan convertor stall a lot higher, causing all sorts of problems.
