scream

i have a GU 2000 and when i put the lights on there is a high pitch scream from some thing under the dash. i do have a head light reminder that comes on when the door is open, but this noise starts when the ignition and lights are on.
i cant here it myself but my Son says it drives him nuts. does anyone know what it is?
