SU carb manifold adaptor

Post by built4thrashing »

I looking for the bolt pattern for where the twin SU carby "Y" adaptor bolts onto the manifold on early rangie's. looking at alternative carbs for a suzuki engine.

also what are the jet settings on a single rangie SU. Would just one satisfy a 1.3 ltr 4cly or would it need the jetting increased.?

thanx

You would need to reduce the jet size, MGB's sold in the US had a single stromberg cd carb on a 1.8 ltr engine so an SU would be the same.
Rover 3500's had su's but i think all rangie's had the strombergs.

I have seen some at a wreckers that have a "y" piece that bolts to the valley manifold and then has the SU or strombergs conected to it.

Anyone have any pics of the setup?

On what vehicle ? rover V8 manifolds are cast in 1 piece they have never had a bolt on Y piece. Some guys that have p76 4.4's have made up adapters but none were ever made by the factory.
