Has anyone mounted a Max Air II compressor into their Navara
and also I would like some ideas on what way to Hard wire in into the acc circuit through a pressure switch so it maintains pressure in the system and cuts in and out as required.
It has a snorkel and dual battery set up and there is a bit of space in the L/H/F corner of the engine bay. but its a pretty tight fit in there.
If you have any Photos of the mountings on your Navara, these would be good also.
I thought of mounting it behind the Bullbar.
Can anyone see any dramas with that position??
Any Ideas would be great.
Cheers

G'day,
I don't have a Navara, I have a GQ Troll, but I have mounted one of these pumps in the back of my truck, and connected it to the second battery with a tank and a 100 psi pressure switch. It works a treat, and pumps my tyres up in a fraction of the time it takes the rest of the Club with their bagged pumps.
Cheers,
Dodge

put your power trigger on relay as your acc then run the earth for the relay through the pressure switch.
Mounting in your bull bar it will fill with water on a deep river crossing and if turns on when going through can cause big problems Damage piston ect.
Ask Mick It happened to his on the cruzer on day. Didnt damage it just had to rebiult it and get the mud out.

you can get a remote filter kit for them so water ingress is minimal, they are resistant to a little bit of a dunk but not long term submerging.

Mount it under the bonnet there's enough room in there .
don't fit it behind the bull bar . my arb one did fill up with water but the airlockers still worked . just had to pull it apart and clean it out a few days later .

Well the info has been good so far.........
Has anyone actually seen one mounted uner the bonnet on a D22 Navara. Does anyone make up a mounting kit??? I know that a on board kit can be purchased with guage, wiring, pressure switch ( with relay ) but I dont know of anyone making a mounting kit like a Battery cradle type thing that Pirhana batteries do.. That would make life so much easier.......

Hi Blkmav
I am ruinning an air tank also under the tray. I thought of doing what you have suggested but after seeing how the cab frame is fabricated under the rear of the cab, drilling holes through the cab is not really the way I would like to do it at the moment...."It's still a new vehicle....
Thanks for the Idea though dude.....

I have mounted mine in an undertray toolbox which mounts in front of the rear wheels. Have had it there for years and it has never faulted. Also have the air tank in there. The gauge and air connection are mounted on the outside of the toolbox between the tie down rail and the tray where they are protected!
Cheers...................Pete!

Unfortunantly, the cab is directly in front of my rear wheels so a tool baox cant be fitted there. (Dual cab)...... Thanks for the info. Once I get some roller drawers, she may be able to get in the back there somewhere.
