A mate has a 1994 dual cab triton and is asking me about some coilovers that he saw on TV. He says his torsion bars and shocks are dead and wants to replace with coilovers for better articulation and smoother ride. Apparently on tv it said you don't need the torsion bar anymore...
He can't remember the brand name, does anyone know what I'm on about?
Are they any better than new torsion bars and shocks?

The only coilover shocks I know of that are a bolt in fit for a Triton are these -

Camil is a South African company.
They don't replace the torsion bars though and I find it hard to believe that with the standard shock length you could get a coil that would support the weight of the front end.
One way would be to redo the top mount to accept NM factory coilover struts - it wouldn't take a lot of work just someone who knows what their doing then you could safely piss the torsion bars off.

I personally think that trying to support the front of the vehicles weight on the shock mounts with coilovers is not a brilliant idea. My mate Craig was really excited about the prospect of more artic.. and smoother ride - I guess that is dreaming the impossible dream.
