G13A - Blowing White smoke on hard acceleration

as the subject says...Under heavy acceleration/high rpm the engine blows white smoke.

Also noticed that at idle the engine will spit out a watery black liquid...not sure if its oily or not but i'll check in the next few days. Got reco radiator and its not using coolant...plugs look fine...a litte on the dirty side maybe...uses a tiny bit of oil...but I put that down to the engine having close to 190k on the clock....

Have been having carby issues lately...really rough idling and won't hold idle below 1500rpm.

What is white smoke usually a sign of?

have searched but most past posts are to do with engine braking...mines the opposite

white smoke is usually an indication of burning oil and that your rings are worn out :cry:

in my experience

white=water/steam

blue=oil

black=fuel

with your dodgy idle maybe a head gasket?

coolant is looking good at the moment. may have used a tiny bit. Oil level uses a little over time but nothing more than usual....

ah well...might have to check out engine transplant options...haha...bring on twin cam GTI or G16....

If its blowing smoke all the time rings are worn , but by what you have said reguarding water and oil , not that bad. If it only blows smoke while it is being reved and at idle or just above it has no smoke this would indicate valve stem seals or guides worn. If it has been a long time since they have been changed might be worth doing as temporary fix , but if your compreesion is down , probably worth transplant , Cheers Paul.
