Hi,

My 80 series has a problem with the headlights. Low beam, no probs but high beam extinguishes all the headlights. Spotties are ok. Checked fuses, relay and globes and all seem ok.

Not sure where to go from here.javascript:emoticon :?:
Question

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

i shall give it a go. BTW how much did it set you back for the wand?

Inspect the contacts in the wand first. They can be cleaned sometimes. They get carbon deposits on the contacts in the wand from arcing. These contacts can be damaged by having high wattage globes in the headlights too.

Even better. I like a challenge, so it is out with the trusty Gregory's manual and i shall see how it goes.

Again, thanks for the advice.

Bad earth hey....

Umm can anyone explain in laymans terms the negative switching concept. My bro and me had a play on the weekend and all sorts of funnystuff happened. We hotwired the LH side highbeam only back to earth and one spottie went out and the RH side highbeam dimmly glowed. If i understood a little more, then i would feel confident to expolre further.
