Hi all,

Having slight trouble with the gear box,

The gear stick is jammed in neutral, though won't move sideways or into any gears (jammed in position). I'm assuming the box is in neutral as the engine starts and the vehcile can be pushed with the clutch engaged.

Have taken the top off the box but cant see any problems with the selector.

Am I up for a new gearbox or am I missing something??

can I source a FJ box to swap in??

Thanks
Cheers

When you took the sticks out, you may have put the shifter lever in the wrong position between the selector rails.... the same thing happened to my transfer case after the clutch was done... all i did was use a big screw driver to pull both selector rails forward, then try several different combinations of the stick position until it worked....

I spose one thing to start on would be to see if u can move the selector rails as per above with the clutch disengaged, this should tell you if its something internal or just the stick position that is wrong. If not, id be dropping the gearbox oil and examining for chunks of metal to indicate a collapsed bearing, damage gear etc.

an FJ box wont go ion as it has a different splin count and different length input shaft.

check the t-case is not in neautral and as above check the gearstick was put in correctly and that the little bush etc is still on the bottom of it.
