Decent Cheap UHF?

Hey Guys,
I want to get a UHF for talking car to car on trips and in case I get stuck somewhere for a 'help' call to any 4x4's near by.
I don't have $400+ to spend on a iCom 400pro or the GME equivilent.
Is there a cheaper alternative that will do what I need it to do? I guess scanning would be good so I can find out if people are in the area.....
But other than that, really what else do you need on a CB? I mean I could just save another month or so and put the extra money in, but $200 is a lot if I never use the featues?
Cheers
Chris

make sure you get a decent antenna as this is the major factor in clarity and distance of signal

KYD is the one I got - just look thru a motorola catalogue and you'll see its brother for a lot more $$$$
Had it over 12 months with nil issues.

I dont know what their warranty is like with other brands but if you buy a Icom thru them you wont get warranty

.
4WDmonthly (for sale section) had a 2nd hand Icom for a great price. may even have been on here also.
If your going to get a hand held really look at Icom only the rest from my reasearching dont have a great range. But if you want a incar UHF they all pretty good I had a GME for my last set and it was great lasted about 10 years before I sold it still working and new owner loves it also

That would be from them, wouldn't it?
You'd still have the ICom warranty, surely.
