Not having a go Vicelore, but It works the other way around - Official club trips are published in the club magazine, on the club group site (yahoo) and emailed to you as a member. You have to contact the trip leader to book a place on that trip.
Upcoming events that the club runs are available on our Yahoo group site. to anyone with a yahoo login.
The club only publicises one trip each year outside of these places - the newbies day that is run shortly after Wandin each year. Obviously, Official club trips bring responsibilities and requirements in terms of insurance etc, and are not open to the general public.
Visitors are welcome on club trips before joining, and as a prospective new member, you may be encouraged to attend a club trip before making a committment to membership. Beyond that point, however, booking in and talking to trip leaders is entirely up to the individual.
Club membership is due at the AGM in July. However, members that join in the last couple of months of the year get a couple of bonus months to bring them into line with the financial year.
i.e if you pay in May, your membership "year" runs May to July '08
Hope that answers some questions.
Steve.

Yeah, no worries
Not everyone understands the way that clubs work, and that is especially true when there are "trips" running out of boards like this. Club membership is quite different to just attending trips - sometimes it doesn't hurt to make that clear.
Cheers,
Steve.

Well said Steve, it amazes that some people are afraid to part with $60 for a club membership, but are prepared to spend over $10K to modify their rig! Not having a go at you vicelore, but I believe we are one of the most easy going and flexible clubs going around!

And i hear on the grapevine that Bill is very easy and incredibly flexible
I've been in a number of clubs over time through fishing and 4wding, the zook club is one of the rare clubs that manages to work with a broad scope of members. Many clubs only woks with a group of campers, or a group of hardcore guys etc.
Not many clubs work this well with stock cars, slightly modded cars and heavily modded cars. This is even to the point that many club trips are rated as easy with optional hard lines. This allows for ANYONE in the club to bring their 4wd and not just a group of hardcore guys driving insane terrain.

I prefer my campers with some black bean sauce and ginger, how about you?
Best if you take their boots off first though, the plastic soles sure do smell as they burn off.
PS - you're spot on though - having a range of cars on a trip is always more fun. Going an a trip with 15 4" lifted GQ's with 35"pedes on them would be pretty boring. (or 15 stock cars for that matter)
For me, 4WDing is a social activity- driving stuff with you and a mate or by yourself (apart from being unsafe) is nowhere near as much fun.

Gotta say the Suzi Club is an awesome club. Great bunch of people and a really good mix of vehicles, experience levels and trips. Will be rejoining probably next year when I have more time to commit to the club. But I can't recommend it enough to any prospective members in the Melbourne area

He might then do more than in his current position! Do we want that? Can we handle it?
