				Exhaust on GU ute.

				Hi all,
I am putting a 3" exhaust on my ute complete with 3" dump pipe. I am going to run twin stacks on it. My question is, after i split the system to go up behind the cab does it still need to be 3" or can i use twin pipes the same size as standard. The reason is i will have to move the tray back a couple of inches to fit twin 3" (which is not a problem) and also i can't see how i would need 3" if i run twin standard pipe! It should be getting rid of the gases just as quick as a 3" pipe??? It will all be mandrel bent pipe.
Thanks in advance for any advice...........................Pete!

I ended up doing through the tray like in f250, rather than play around with tray, mine are two 3 inch stacks
Heres then set up

this is finished, but need a checker plate protection over stacks at rear of tray, you loose 15cm tray space with this set up

If i was to do this - and i said "if" i'd put the splitter below the tray so it is hidden and cut two 3.5" holes in each corner of the tray. More holes, less obstruction (=less protective covers needed) and better looking IMHO.
Just a thought. Nice exhaust bending and mandrel splitter set up though txhog!

Dont think that could be done for the aux tank sits on the RHS and there wouldnt be enough room between the tray and tank.

That is a nice setup txhog. Looks like you are a hunter, so we have something in common then. I have to put mine in front of the tray because i have a storage box full width and as high as the headboard at the front of the tray. I have a dogbox and crate behind that! That setup of yours is exactly what i want except in front of the tray. I guess i will have to move the tray back a bit now!
Cheers........................Pete!

So you're saying it's different

?
Then why has it been done numerous times before

?
Go to the B&S balls (Bogans & skanks) down Sth & every second ute has them. Don't forget the Bundy stickers, big mudflaps, shoot ferals stickers, want more grunt....root a pig sticker, lights ontop of your bullbar, aerials hanging off everywhere (even though you'll only use 2 of them) & of course turn up the ' Best of Lee Kernigan' cd so all the other Bogans know you're a Bogan too

.
This isn't a dig @ you directly Gruntahunta, more.........freedom of speech or 'FREEDOM TO CHOOSE'. How's that grab ya Bingham

As for bogan & bumpkins...it's easy. You're a bogan & you'll grow to be a bumpkin

Get'n a bit of topic here I think Bingham & as for all the fingers maybe you can stick a couple up your doot

.
Where on the Sunny coast are ya, maybe you can come out for a run to Glasshouse & show us what you drive, how you drive it & what makes yours so special

.
Don't bother replying to this, I need say no more about your bogan ways

Hey guys, i didn't want to start a bun fight, all i wanted was some info on stacks which i really haven't got yet!
My comment about "all being the same would be boring" was more a comment along the communist lines of all having exactly the same thing, built the same way, the same colour etc....etc..... I didn't mean stacks had not been done before. I may be a country bumpkin but i am not a complete retard!
By the way, i am proud to be a country bumpkin and i love my $52,000 patrol complete with all of the above, and then some! Yes it has lockers, yes it has a winch, yes it has compressors, yes it has a hot shower.. etc etc etc but it doesn't make me any better than Miss Daisy who drives her Mazda 3 to church once a week.
We are all here enjoying life as we see it. Look up and down your street and see how many of your neighbours are just like yourself?? Not too many is my guess!
Sorry about the sermon, got a bit offended by some comments.
Cheers......................Pete!

				i agree..... gruntahunta

.... As for GU bug ill think ull find that there are a fair few people that attend 'BnS's and Musters, and as u go out clubing and the rest of the shite you do these are gatherings for people much the same to have a good time and NO they are not Down south, there was one held just recently at Caboolture(urban country)

 ... missinformed person

 .
As for stacks just get them bent up dude will look awsome doing the same soon. just cut the holes in the tray and going to just use normal 3inch pipe not stainless..too expensive to get bashed around....
will be wtaching this thread closely

cheers

I thought I gave you some info.
Do you want to know more about the split? Keep in all at 3 inch, with you dump pipe mod thats good, the flex joint on standard is only 2 inch, you need to change flex joint as well, then you will have full free flow.
My Maundrel T-Piece cost $93, you could use one like that under tray.
You can get a 3 inch flex joint off EBAY for $30 plus postage rather than $200 from the shop

				GU BUG
The question is in Nissan section, not General, so stop making negative comments.
I want to see how he does his Stacks as many others do, as mainly they are on GQ Patrols and Landcruisers. So ideas on Mods for GU utes interest people.
