Outer Limits 4x4 Board

G'day Guys,

Want to put a 2" body lift in my 2000 LN167R Dual Cab Hilux and would like some advise from other members who have done the same.

Are there many mods that i need to do as far are brake lines, clutch lines, transfer levers, gears levers and so forth?

Also like to hear recommendations as to which is the best kits to purchase.

ebay...and search, body lifts been done so mnay times....

done a 2in cab lift on 99 lux last weekend wasn't to bad just cut bottom half off fan shroud could have done less but mate was keen to get it going so it worked ok other thing with his was transfer stick hit when pulling back from 2wd to go to 4wd so cutr tin gearstick boot plate out a bit and would be wise to bend gearstick foward a bit and transfer foward a fair bit more than what gearstick goes lift it up and you'll see how much also steering shaft extension maybe.

Sorry about the hijack but I have an automatic lux . When putting selector lever all the way down into 1st there is not a lot of lever left (not enough to accomodate a 2" body lift.) Whats the go with body lifting and moding the lever? Is there something I am missing or will it be a pain in the ass?

why not do a drivetran lift at the same time! its a far better option than having to cut rad shrouds, extend leavers, hoses, steering shafts ect.. and not to mention how much more clearace it will give!

Yeah but i'd rather keep weight low and the drivetrain lift will increase uni angle and reduce life of uni's

there is (underneath on driverside of box) a conection rod to side of gearbox which the selector is bolted too.

it is this part that if you adjust it will allow the slight bit more travel needed

I havn't adjusted mine (i had to remove it briefly) and got it slightly to shallow so when selecting gear the little bit of red to signify gear selection doesn't represent true position of gear selection

but there is plenty of movement in the adjustable part to accomodate

I used 2 inch urethane blocks with crush tubes and recessed washers

25 bucks each from On track i think at spring wood
25 bucks includes the washers and crush tubes

I didn't have any major drama's
probably the hardest thing was the fuel filler everything else was straight forward

(mine is a surf) dunno wether that makes it easier or harder though

its to a surf but the principal is the same

you can use normal alloy blocks on you styleside/ally tray though (much cheaper!)
