I am thinking about going coil springs under my sierra.......... Firstly is it legal to do such a thing in Queensland? and is there anybody that thinks its not worth it, or that its not a good idea?

Some opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks Andy ;)

Anything is possible in Qld if you have a chassis and lots of time and $$$. Ask around a few Qld T'port approved engineers. If you find one willing to talk about it you are halfway there.. IMHO ..not worth the cost and headaches involved. It would probably be easier to get a coily and ute/stretch it. Coil is definately a softer, smoother, better ride. Not sure if you get more articulation though.

why do you want coils? Just because or for some reason? I don't know about the anything is possible in QLD it seems to be the complete opposite going by all the threads on here about how hard it is to get any mods legally done n QLD.

I also don't agree that a coil is a better ride. You can get a great ride with leaves using longer springs etc. Personally I wouldn't bother with a coil conversion, instead I'd invest in some good springs and shocks

Just cause an engineer will aprove it does not mean that its legal, or the DOT or whatever in your state will aprove it. Contact the authorities and confirm things first. Through i would be askign hte same questions as Grimbo, why and what do you want.
