Carried a load of firewood for a couple of hundred kms across the Big desert a few weeks ago and a mate stacked the roof rack and a few logs made it through the roof rack bars and have rubbed down to bear metal on the roof in a couple of places.

I have since got a colour match and a pressure pack of the correct colour and a can of primer. I have never done any spraying touch ups before, but assumed it can't be that hard. Can anyone provide any tips on prepping the area that needs to be resprayed and the best method for respraying?

assuming you don't need to fill...

get some fine wet and dry, cut back the area and a little around it.

wipe down with prepsol to remove dust and other contaminants.

if undercoat is still intact (ie no metal or rust) then mask off area and spray with long even strokes, triggerr on b4 you hit the painted area and trigger off after.

may have to layer, don't be tempted to spray too thick or will run.

now pls check with a panel beater to make sure i got it right....
